Editor:Innovation   Time:2019/9/6

With the development of economy and science, the glass industry has made great progress. At the same time, the original glass types have been strengthened while developing new varieties. Various types of deep-processed glass have gradually replaced the ordinary flat glass, and have shown great splendor in their respective application fields. In order to cut glass materials better and more conveniently, we need to have a certain understanding of various cutting methods, so how to take cutting methods under different thickness of glass?

1. Cutting 2-3 mm thick flat glass

Cutting 2-3 m thick flat glass can use 2 mm *12 mm thin wood bar ruler. Measure the glass size first and determine the cutting size on the ruler. It is necessary to consider leaving 3 mm gap and 2 mm knife edge. When cutting, the side with size can be close to the side of glass. The glass knife is close to the other end of the ruler. The knife edge can be drawn straight and backward without bending slightly or heavily.

2. Cutting 4-6mm thick glass

Cutting 4-6mm thick glass is roughly the same as above, but because the glass is thicker, it should be grasped accurately and stably, and the force should be light and even. Another cutting method is to use a 4 mm x 50 mm ruler with a glass knife close to the ruler. When cutting, some kerosene should be brushed on the cutting edge in advance to make the cutting edge easy to pull off after oil seepage.

3. Cutting 5-6mm thick bulk glass

Cutting large glass with 5-6mm thickness is the same as cutting with 5mm x 40mm ruler. But large glass area is large, people can not cut on the ground. Sometimes they need to stand on the glass to cut. Before cutting, they must pad the flannel cloth on the workbench to make the glass compressed evenly. After cutting, they should grasp the glass with both hands. At the same time, they can not take off the downboard carelessly and cause the whole glass to break.
